WRESTLING

The wrestling team had a great weekend of wrestling. We sent a group of Individuals (we entered 8 wrestlers out of a possible 14) to wrestle at the Warren Woods Clash of Titans Individual tournament. We placed 5th out of 19 teams. Every individual we entered placed as well. Congratulations to the following wrestlers:

- 113 lbs Max Krug 2nd place

- 150 lbs Joey Montilla 3rd place

- 157 lbs Nathan O’Donnell 4th place

- 165 lbs Mason Collins 3rd place

- 165 lbs Mick Motowski 4th place

- 190 lbs Vinny Lertola 2nd place

- 215 lbs Casey Beleshi 2nd place 

- 285 lbs Gjon Nikollaj 3rd place

We sent our remaining wrestlers to Port Huron to compete in a Varsity team tournament. The Pilots came home as tournament champions going 5-0! Our young wrestlers stepped up big and wrestled very well.

The Pilots move to 21-4 on the season.

The Varsity/Jv teams both travel to Canton this Thursday 1/26 to take on Brother Rice and Plymouth HS. Wrestling begins at 5 pm.

Saturday, the Varsity Team travels to Romulus for a team tournament and the JV heads to Utica HS for a JV tournament. Both start at 9 am.

BASKETBALL

This past Saturday our Varsity basketball team lost a close game 63-58 to Grand Rapids Christian.  Our Pilots are now 7-5 overall and 2-2 in the league. The Freshmen and JV teams were both off over the weekend. 

This week all three teams get back on the hardwood with games Tuesday @ Lake Orion and Friday @ home vs Brother Rice. Game times for both days are:

Freshmen @ 4 pm

JV @ 5:30 pm 

Varsity @ 7 pm.

HOCKEY

The Pilot Hockey team also traveled to Grand Rapids this weekend. Friday they took on the #3 team in the state, Byron Center. They were only down 2-1 going into the third period before things went south and eventually lost 9-1.  Saturday they suffered another tough loss to Grand Rapids Catholic Central 7-4.  The hockey team looks to rebound as they get back on the ice this Tuesday against Brother Rice @ Mt. Clemens Ice Arena starting at 7:30 pm.

BOWLING

This past Saturday our Varsity Bowling team qualified 8th at the Shorian Classic which earned them a head-to-head match with the #1 seed Lakeview.  After winning the 1st game 210-154, they dropped the 2nd game 215-154. The 3rd game was tightly contested but a few bad breaks went against the Pilots and they lost 188-178. Great effort boys!  Next for our bowlers is Orchard Lake St. Mary’s this Tuesday.  The match will take place at Fraser Star Lanes at 3:30.  Good Luck! 

SWIMMING

The Varsity Swim team had the weekend off but gets back in the pool and competes twice this week. Tuesday they go up against University Liggett High School @ Warren Woods HS at 6:00 pm. And Thursday they swim against Eisenhower, @ Eisenhower at 6:00 pm.
