BASKETBALL
This past Friday our Varsity basketball team knocked off the undefeated, #1 ranked Brother Rice Warriors; therefore, reminding everyone who the defending State champs are. Sophomore Phoenix Glassnor led the team with 16 pts, 3 asts, 3 reb, and 2 stls as the Pilots grided out a defensive battle in their Central Division opener resulting in a final score of 38-34. Some other individual stats from the game include:
Senior Nino Smith: 7 pts, 5 asts, 4 stl
Senior Mike Sulaka:7 pts 2 asts 7 Reb 2 stl 4 blks
Senior Jack Yanachik: 2 pts 2 asts 10 Reb 2 stl.
The Pilots improve to 6-2 with a league record of 1-0.
Our JV basketball team stayed undefeated as they came back from nine down to defeat Brother Rice 46-39 in overtime. Isaiah Jones had a team-high of 19 pts. And Sante Gasperoni dominated the boards with an outstanding 12 rebounds.
Our Freshmen team had a hard-fought game but came up a little short losing to Brother Rice 61-57. Congrats to Alex Sabaugh who was the team's hard hat winner.
This week all three teams continue league play with games at home on Tuesday vs OLSM, and Friday away at U of D.

WRESTLING
The DLS Varsity wrestling team was phenomenal on Saturday. The Pilot wrestlers headed to the west side of the state to see some different competition and move to 10 -1 on the season after going 5-0 at the Comstock tournament. On their way to becoming tournament champions, the Pilots defeated Colon 72-6, Sturgis 67-6, Hopkins 47-31, Gobles 60-11, and Holland 52-30.
In the process DLS had 9 undefeated wrestlers:

The Pilots travel to Brother Rice on Wednesday to take on OLSM and Bishop Foley. The Meet begins at 5:15 pm. Keep up the good work, wrestlers!
HOCKEY
The Pilot Hockey team had two games in Cleveland over the weekend. They, unfortunately, lost their first game against St. Edward (OH) 4-3 in OT. Colton Fuqua '24 scored twice. Keegan James '24 added a goal and an assist as well.
In the Pilots' 2nd game, they lost to University School (OH) 3-1. Joshua Lawrence '25 scored his first high school goal, while Jacob Brillati '23 and Joseph Serra '25 each had an assist. The Pilots are now 4-9 and will be away vs Cranbrook this Wednesday at 5:30 pm.

BOWLING
Saturday, at the LCN Bakers Dozen, the Varsity Bowling team qualified 12th with a 13 baker game total of 2,441. They would face Lakeshore in the round of 16 in a best 2 of 3 baker match. After winning the 1st game 220-150, the Pilots would drop game two with a final score of 172-140. The deciding game 3 was a close one, but sadly the Pilots fell short 224-210.
This Tuesday they resume league play against U of D at 3:30 pm @ Fraser Star Lanes. Good luck, bowlers!
