Basketball

Varsity

De La Salle Collegiate 51, West Ottawa 39: Freshman Phoenix Glassnor led the way for the Purple and Gold (4-0) with 22 points, in what was a slow, grind-it-out-type game. For his efforts, Glassnor was named the MVP of the game.

The contest was played as part of “The Showcase” event, hosted at Cornerstone University.

Junior Michael Sulaka also chipped in 10 points and six rebounds in the win.

Next up for De La Salle is a non-conference matchup with Clinton Twp. Chippewa Valley Tuesday. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Bill Fox Gymnasium.

Bowling

As a team, the Pilots advanced all the way to the Final Four, with a two-game total of 387 in the Elite Eight round of action. Then, in the Final Four, the Purple and Gold faced off against a red-hot Eisenhower team, which defeated De La Salle, 446-330, in a two-game pinfall match.
