Cross country

In De La Salle's final dual meet of the season, against Detroit U-D Jesuit, senior Peyton Ross finished as the Pilots' top runner, finishing in third place. The Purple and Gold lost the meet, 18-45. 

Next up: Invitational with Dearborn Divine Child on Tuesday, Oct. 12, followed by the Macomb County Championships on Saturday, Oct. 16.

Soccer 

Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood 4, De La Salle Collegiate 1: Junior Zach Femminineo scored the lone goal of the 2021 Catholic League Bishop championship game for the Pilots (8-6-4). The goal came on an assist from junior Michele Pizzo.  

Next up: The Pilots will look to bounce back Friday against Hamtramck High School. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. at Keyworth Stadium.

Tennis (MHSAA regional play at Grosse Pointe North High School and Elworthy Field) 

Junior Louis Mollicone won his first-round match against Warren Cousino, and then dropped his next match against Grosse Pointe South. Meanwhile, fellow junior Leo Tucciarone had a first-round bye, and then won his first match over Grosse Pointe North. He lost in the next round to Detroit U-D Jesuit. The Pilots finished with five points on the day, having needed 18 to advance to the MHSAA state finals. 

Next up: Monday at 4 p.m. vs. Romeo High School, at Macomb Community College’s South campus (some of the matches will also likely be played at Warren Woods Tower High School).
