Varsity 

De La Salle Collegiate 57, Troy 28: Senior Tamario Adley finished with a team-high 13 points, en route to helping the Pilots capture the MHSAA Division 1 District 29 championship. He also posted four assists and three steals. 

Meanwhile, freshman Phoenix Glassnor contributed 11 points, and junior Michael Sulaka added eight points, seven rebounds and three blocks.

Next up for the Purple and Gold (15-7) is a regional semifinal contest with Roseville Monday at Troy Athens High School. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.

Hockey 

Orchard Lake St. Mary’s 2, De La Salle 1: The Pilots’ run in the MHSAA Division 3 state playoffs came to an end Friday in a semifinal contest with Orchard Lake St. Mary’s. The Purple and Gold (23-5-1) fell to the Eaglets, 2-1, in triple overtime. 

De La Salle’s lone goal of the game came in the second period when senior Jack Rivera scored at even strength. It came on an assist from fellow senior Jax VanIttersum.  

Additionally, junior DLS goaltender Benjamin Vanderdonck stopped 30-of-32 shots he faced. 

The Pilots finished the season with a program-record 23 wins. 

Swimming

The swimmers competed in the MHSAA Division 2 state meet this weekend at Oakland University.

The results were as follows:

- Senior Max Swiatkowski finished 11th in the 100-yard backstroke, with a personal best time of 52.76. 

- The 200-yard medley relay team of Swiatkowski, senior Michael Paluch, junior Michael Saad and junior Michael Slusser finished 22nd.

- Paluch recorded a 26th-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke.

- Swiatkowski posted a 20th-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley.
